Suggestions from Simply Scentsible

Want an easy way to clean your containers?  Once the candle is finished burning, simply place the container in your dishwasher while running a regular load of dishes!  If there happens to be a large amount of soy wax (see below) in the container, remove before placing in dishwasher.

Remember to keep your candles away from drafts; from the air conditioner vents, fans, open windows, etc.  This will allow your candles to burn evenly.

Once your glass containers are empty and cleaned you can use them to hold cotton balls, cotton swabs, lipstick, even toothbrushes.  Use them as a small vase for flowers.  We have had people use them as a decoration filled with colorful sand, marbles and shells.  Use your imagination.

Want to know how to put out your candles without any smoke?  Simply use our wick dippers! Use the end of the wick dipper to gently push the wick into the melted soy wax. Then take the hook part and gently pull the wick up. It will now be easier to trim and to light the next time. And the best part is you will not have any smoke when you put the flame out! A simple, easy and attractive way to have a candle snuffer!!

Did you know that many of the soy candles out in the market are not really 100% soy?  The reason for this is that in order for a candle to be called a soy candle, it only needs to be 50% soy!  What is the remaining 50%?  It could be bees wax, etc. or worse, it could be paraffin!!  Paraffin is made from oil by products and will cause black soot to accumulate in and around your candles.  Which also means everyone in your home is breathing in these fumes!  Not what we want in our homes.  So when in doubt, ask.  Our candles at Simply Scentsible are made of 100% soy wax.  We do not and we will not use paraffin in any of our candles. Facts You Should Know

Want to know how to make your votives last as long as possible?  Use a tight fitting votive holder.  If you don’t then it is possible the votive will tunnel (burn down the middle) because the liquid will follow the shape of the holder.  If you burn your votives in snug fitting votive holders, the soy wax will last longer while it is burning.  We’ve actually had votives burn for 23 hours!

Want to save on shipping costs?  Get a group of people together and place one order and have it shipped to one address.  This saves a lot of money on shipping costs.

How I get my car smelling nice and clean! I use one of my mom's soy votives and put it in a bathroom dixie cup and place it in a cup holder in the back seat of my car.  Now when I get into my car it smells nice and clean.  I'm a teenager and I need all the help I can get! - Brian, Florida

Below are some fun suggestions we have received from our customers not necessarily related to soy candles, but fun to read and could possibly save you time and money!

Going on a trip with a lot of shoes?  I put a couple of dryer sheets in a suitcase first, then I put all of our shoes in one suitcase. - Sandy, Michigan

Want to know how to clean a mousepad instead of throwing it away?!  I boil some water and then add about a scoop of Oxy Clean to a pan that will hold my mousepad.  I then add the boiling water, stir until dissolved, then add the mousepad.  You will actually see the dirt come right off.  I also flip the pad over so it gets clean on both sides.  Be careful not to burn yourself. I then put it outside to dry completely. - Michele, Florida
